October is always full of so much fun and lots of events. Fall Break and Halloween feel like they take up the entire month.
Tess and Coco got to attend a fun Primary Halloween Party...
Sometimes I take random pictures of Addy with her friends because I rarely get any anymore...
And I always love to see the awesome artwork that Quincy creates...
For Fall Break we decided to take the girls to Texas...
We stayed in Austin and were told that one of the places we had to try was Torchy's Tacos. It was close to our house so this was our first stop of the trip. Totally worth it.
Next we headed to the State Capitol which was absolutely beautiful inside and out.
After that we found an arcade that girls had a blast at...
Our final stop of the day was The Bat Bridge which we were told to go to at sunset and we would see thousands of bats flying under and around the bridge. I didn't get great pictures of it but it was kind of crazy to see that many bats altogether...
On Day 2 we made our way to Waco. But the girls insisted that we had to stop at Buc-ee's on the way there. The actual largest gas station in the world. I definitely wasn't mad about this stop. It's pretty awesome.
Once in Waco we went to the Waco Mammoth National Monument which is the site of fossils of a herd of mammoths and other prehistoric animals. This was a pretty cool thing to see...
Next we headed to the Magnolia Home Silos. This is the place of famous home renovators and although I'm not a massive fan, this place was incredible. There were shops, a massive courtyard to have a picnic or play games, lots of food options, gardens, and a beautiful church right in the middle of it all. This was a fun place to spend some time...
Made a quick stop at the Waco Suspension bridge which was built in 1870 and was the first major suspension bridge in Texas...
Then, we headed to Baylor University to check out the campus, but mostly to see their mascots. Look at those cute bears...
Nothing warms my heart more than to see my girls caring for each other without being asked. Addy literally held her head up like this for the entire drive back to our house...
Day 3 we headed to San Antonio to see the famous Stockyard. It was pretty cool to see the Longhorn Steer being driven through the street like they used to do. The whole stockyard is a fun place to hang out on top of it. There's a petting zoo, tons of shops, places to eat, and just a cool vibe all around...
After the stockyard we headed to downtown San Antonio. Here, Devin took Addy and Quincy to a BYU game at San Antonio State while I took Tess and Coco to an art museum and to a crazy awesome park...
While at the game Addy ran into one of the guys on the comedy show Studio C...
Afterwards we all met back up for dinner and when we came back outside felt like we were suddenly in a scene from the movie Birds. It was crazy...
Day 4 we headed to the Alamo in San Antonio. Devin and I love historic stuff and although the girls complain about it at first they end up really enjoying it....
After that we soaked it all in at the San Antonio Riverwalk. This place is just so beautiful. We absolutely loved walking up and down next to the river...
Definitely wore her out...
Texas was such a fun trip for our family. We saw and did so much, made some fun memories, and really lived it up while we were there.
Once we were home we got back into the routine of life. Tess and Coco celebrated the 50th day of school by dressing up in 50's style. At this point, I was still working at their school, but had just gotten promoted to the Behavior Tech. It meant more hours, but it was going back into my previous experience and degree so I was thrilled.
It's always so fun to have the girls bring their friends to hang out at our house. Queralt, Quincy, and Izzy are just about the sweetest girls around...
This silly girl found a new way to get down the stairs...
We were lucky enough to have Josh, Kelsie, Landon, and Maylie visit us during October. We always love having visitors and just really enjoy the time we get to spend with them...
We even got to celebrate Kelsie's birthday while they were here...
And we took them to see the famous pirate ship in the neighborhood. These people build this pirate ship in front of their house every year...
And took them for a hike to see the Petroglyphs...
And decorated Halloween cookies...
Halloween always starts with the costume parade. This year, because I work, this was the only picture that I was able to get...
And then Trick or Treating to top it off. Love seeing the girls dress up with their friends...
What a fun filled and busy October was for us. Now to go fall into a sugar coma for the next few weeks!
