Kangaroo Zoo

Today my friend Jessica and I decided to take the kids to Kangaroo Zoo. I saw this place on another blog and thought it would be fun to check it out.

At first Adalyn was a bit skeptical...

... and not too thrilled with the whole thing.

Then, she saw how much her friend Jonas was enjoying it and couldn't resist.

Somewhere in the middle she decided that this balloon was more fun...

But by the end, she found this...

and couldn't get enough!

All in all it was a fun activity and definitely one we will try again!

Waiting...

2 weeks and 3 days. There are only 2 ways to look at that amount of time: 1) Will it ever end? 2) That's all we have left? As you can see, I am a mixture of emotions! In the meantime...

We wait...

And while we wait, I wonder: How will I do with 2? How much will the life we now know change? Will this change?:

I don't have any doubt that the minute our new little girl is in my arms my fears will be wiped away, but until then...

WE WAIT!

Things You Never Knew You Wanted To Know...

Okay, so I stole this from another blog but I thought it was cute (and we mostly blog about Addie so I thought I would throw one in about Devin and I)

What are your middle names? Devin Lynn and Krystal Lyn (Crazy, I know)

How long have you been together? Married for 4.5 years together for 5 years

How long did you know each other before you started dating? We were friends for a couple of years before we started dating

Whose siblings do you see the most? Devin's (the ones that live in Utah anyways)

Do you have any children together? One daughter and another on the way

What about pets? No pets... I can't convince Devin to get a dog.

Did you go to the same school? We both went to the College of Eastern Utah

Who is the most sensitive? Definitely me

Where do you eat out most as a couple? Sadly... Burger King's dollar menu.

Where is the furthest you have ever traveled as a couple? Niagra Falls

Who has the worst temper? Again definitely me... It takes a lot to get Devin mad.

Who does the cooking? Me, but only when I'm not pregnant

Who is more social? Devin... he can talk to anyone and everyone

Who is the neat freak? Once again, Definitely me (I have been trying to train Devin for 4 years now)

Who is the most stubborn? Me

Who hogs the bed? We both think that the other person does!

Who wakes up earlier? It depends on when Adalyn wakes up... If she sleeps in then Devin wakes up earlier.

Where was your first date? Babysitting his sister's kids, eating at Fazoli's.

Who has the bigger family? Same amount of siblings in both families but Devin's family has more nieces and nephews.

Do you get flowers often? no... Devin understands that although flowers are nice, I would prefer something more usable/edible

Who eats more? Devin

Who sings better? Absolutely Devin

Who does the laundry? Me

Who is better with the computer? Devin has always been better with technological stuff... but he teaches me!

Who drives when you are together? Devin always drives when we are together (I think he secretly doesn't like the way I drive)

Who picks where you go to dinner? It is generally a battle and I always make Devin end up picking

Who is the first one to admit when they are wrong? It used to be Devin... but I have been a lot better

Who wears the pants in this relationship? Adalyn

Who eats more sweets? It's pretty equal... We are both suckers for a good treat

Who cries more? Definitely me... I could cry over a good movie or a book, but it takes a lot for Devin to cry

Where did you honeymoon? Cruise to Mexico

Favorite date night? Since it's rare... any date night is a GREAT night!

Favorite TV show to watch together? The Office, Intervention, Friends (since we own all 10 seasons)

Lately...

Lately, we have been trying to stay busy with different things. In the process we discovered that Addie is quite the artist. She loves to paint and asks to do it often.

Though sometimes it turns into body painting...

We now have 9am church which we all agree has been so great! We have decided that with kids it is the perfect time for church and makes all of our lives a bit easier! Here is Addie waiting to go!

And we are also preparing for the arrival of baby #2. Though I have had a mile-long list of things to do, because I started so early I have accomplished a lot more than I thought I would. Having a list and crossing things off one at a time has not only helped me to get things done, but it has also relieved the stress I have been feeling about having 2 babies. And the more that gets done, the more excited I am for Baby Day! Yesterday we set up the double stroller... and for a girl who doesn't like being in the stroller, it wasn't easy getting her out!

We are now down to 28 days until the planned arrival of baby girl #2 (though we are aware that she could come much sooner). We are very excited and of course, very nervous. But as my sister-in-laws have all said "Double the kids... double the fun!"

Baby Love

We have been attempting to teach Adalyn that there is actually a baby growing inside my tummy. Although we aren't sure how much she gets it, it has been so cute seeing what she does understand. Every time we ask "Where is your baby sister?" she will either point to my tummy (or hers) or come over and lift my shirt to see my tummy. More recently she was standing next to me and the baby began visibly kicking inside my stomach. Adalyn reached her hand up to my tummy and said "Kicking." We have also been trying to teach her to love the baby by giving hugs and kisses, but the idea was just too much for her. Then yesterday, without prompting, she lifted my shirt and began rubbing my belly. I took the opportunity to say "Addie, can you give the baby kisses?" She leaned over and kissed my tummy. I quickly grabbed the camera!

We are so excited to see how cute she will be with the baby. She will be a great big sister!

Christmas

We had such a fun Christmas this year. Adalyn understood the 'opening presents' idea and it was fun watching her enjoy it all. Here are some pictures of our Christmas weekend...

Christmas Eve/Wayment Party

Adalyn loved the Candy Bar Game. She got right in and picked out all the candy that she wanted.

We have a tradition of opening pajamas on Christmas Eve...

Christmas Morning

Christmas Dinner With the Paynes

Addie was so tired at this point that I spent most of Christmas Dinner on a couch while she slept on me. Devin was so sweet and set up a table for me and waited on me hand and foot.

It was a busy but extremely fun weekend!
