Addie's Big Day!

Little Adalyn was blessed today. She had so many friends and family members come to see her. She looked so cute in her dress and she behaved perfectly all day long. I was a little worried about a "blow out" in the dress, but she managed to keep all bodily functions under control.

She was smiling because I told her I would slip her a few cookies from the "after party".
So I invited a lot of my SLC friends thinking that not many would show up (thanks to Exxon Mobil), but it turns out that almost everyone came. The circle turned out being a bit large and not everyone was able to touch the baby during the blessing. I think the blessing still counts, right?
The two beautiful ladies that melt my heart.

Here's Addie being mauled again. This was a common occurrence today. Everyone wanted to hold her. I think she likes the attention, but she has a rule about only being passed around 5 times per hour... or else she gets a little cranky. She does love getting to know new people and seeing new faces.

After everyone went home, Adalyn gave Mom some kisses to tell her thank you for everything she had done. We had a ton of help and we are grateful to all those who came, and all those who helped with the food.

Reading, Working, Self Soothing, and Talking

Oh, a day in the life of Adalyn!

Adalyn loves it when Daddy reads to her... as long as the books are short of course. It's too hard to stay focused for that long!

Adalyn also loves to go out... and visiting Daddy at work is a major bonus. Devin is loving his job and we both feel extremely grateful that he is working for such a great company. He is such a hard worker and Addie and I both appreciate him bringing home the bacon. (I would prefer Snickers but bacon works too)

Addie has discovered a new way to soothe herself when she is really tired. As you can see from the picture, she enjoys sucking on my arm for relief. She will squirm and squirm until she gets into the perfect position and then she will suck herself to sleep. The picture below is the outcome of her sucking... I never thought my first hickey would be from my child!
And oh, the talking! I tell you what... nothing warms my heart more than to have Addie respond to us with coos and smiles. I could be in the worst mood and it would all be washed away with one of her smiles. Our favorite is when she smiles and then sheepishly looks away... it is so adorable! She is the cutest thing ever and we love her more and more everyday. The video doesn't capture her full capabilities (she doesn't perform for the camera) but its still cute. Try to ignore my talking...

Who says babies just eat, sleep, and poop?

Bienvenidos a Casa Elder Wayment

My brother has returned! Josh came home from serving an honorable mission in Puebla, Mexico on Saturday. Almost his entire family was there to greet him at the airport. We were told it was one of the loudest homecomings they have ever heard! My parents went down to pick him up from Mexico and had the opportunity of meeting some of the families that Josh served. They said that it was a really amazing experience to see how much each family loved Josh and how sad they were to see him go. We are very happy to have him back though. Devin has already introduced him to the Wii, and is looking forward to many nights full of Wii fun with him.

Adalyn also got to meet her Uncle Josh for the first time... too cute! Although Josh was a little timid about holding a baby he began to warm up to it. We even tried to get him to change his first diaper but its too soon for that.

We also have a new niece...Madelyn Ruth Payne was born on 06-07-08. She looks like such a cutie and we can't wait to meet her!

Adalyn Says "Hello" To The World

Our little family went to church together for the first time this week! Adalyn was the quietest baby in the congregation... and we enjoyed watching the other parents squirm as their kids screamed. The ward is full of young families which we are excited for and we can't wait to get to know them.

Adalyn has also made several new friends (whether she knows it or not). I was able to get together with some of my high school friends and their daughters this last week. It was so great to have a Girl's Day and see all of the cute little girls together.
Adalyn has also enjoyed spending time with the Rickers and having a barbeque with the Proudfoots. Even though she threw up all over the Proudfoots chair, we are pretty sure that she liked them!
Only 6 weeks old and already a shopper... we have already gone with both of her Grandmas and she just loves it. It is so fun to take Addie out and about... not only do I get to show her off, but she enjoys looking at everything there is to see. She has been such a joy to be with all day, everyday and I really look forward to each and every day that I have with her and my wonderful husband.
