By the time August rolls around we know we are down to a couple short weeks before the kids are headed back to school. So we try to make the most of it. 

For a final summer Young Women's activity, we decided to head to Fire Lake for some kayaking and swimming...

Of course there's always last minute school shopping to be done...

And of course we just had to see the new Barbie movie...

There was a Meet the Teacher day but the kids met some kittens too...

And before we knew it, our annual Back to School Night was here. We had a special dinner and each of the girls received a Father's Blessing from Devin...

We had a lot of firsts this year. This is the first year that all 4 of our girls would be going to school...

Addy 10th Grade. First year of High School and couldn't be more ready...

                                                  

Quincy 8th Grade. First year of Middle School and excited/nervous for it all...

Tessly 4th Grade. No firsts for Tess this year but she was excited for the new year...

Colette Kindergarten. First year at school and boy was she ready...

These 2 would be going to the same school. I love that have each other...

For the first day of school I made sure that Coco got to her class. She was ready to be there, but I was not ready to leave. Just about broke my Mama heart to walk out that door...

So of course I went back with her the next day...

First time that I with have no kids at home during the day. Starting it off by spending more time hiking with my new adventure buddy, Cubby, around our beautiful area...

Getting used to new routines is exhausting...

After the first couple weeks of taking the girls to school, we decided it was time for the to ride the bus. For some reason, this was a bit harder for me. But it helped that Coco had Tess to protect her.

First Stake Fireside of the school year...

Lots of firsts, lots of changes, and lots of new routines to get used to. August was both exciting and exhausting, anxiety-inducing and freeing. With all 4 girls now being gone all day, I'm not sure what that means for me but we'll figure it out as we go.
