Our Easter

As usual we had a very eventful day on Easter. The girls first woke up to their Easter baskets...

Then after church, they had their first egg hunt of the day...

The second egg hunt was and Grandma and Grandpa Payne's. Natalee and Carson willingly teamed up with the girls to find the eggs...

The third egg hunt was at Grandma and Grandpa Wayment's. The kids had so much fun with their new toys...

It was such a fun day!

Knights and Princesses

Adalyn is 3!! She is such a big girl and is growing up so fast! On her birthday she woke up to this...

Months ago Adalyn told us that she wanted a Princess Party for her birthday. Can't really say no to this...

Since Addie has boy friends as well as girl friends we decided to go with knights and princesses. Here are the cute kids all dressed up...

The Knights and Princesses were sent on a Quest to find the dragon (who stole all the candy in the land). After completing a few tasks, they found the dragon and and saved the candy.

Afterwards, we had dinner and cupcakes in the Ballroom...

And of course, our Princess then opened presents...

It was such a fun and special day for our little Princess. We love her so much!

I'm A Big Kid Now!

We have been "potty training" Adalyn since she was 18 months old. She started going on the potty quite a bit and we thought for sure she would be out of diapers by the time she was 2. Then we moved... twice. And she gave up completely. We did everything we could think of. Bribed her with chocolate and suckers, bought Dora panties, offered toys of her choice, bought Princess panties, told her about all of her friends who went on the potty, and so on and so on. We even let her wear the panties to get the feel of it. And here we are, 1 month away from 3 years old and although she would go here and there, I didn't really have any hope. Quite a few people told me that I just needed to wait until she was ready and one day she would just surprise us. I should have believed you wise people... it would have saved me a lot of time and effort! Last Sunday, Devin asked Addie, "Do you want to wear panties?" I shot him a look that said, "Are you crazy?" and quickly said, "She isn't ready, Dev." To which he replied, "No harm in trying." He then explained the terms to Addie, and the process began... Again. And as much as I hate to admit it, Devin was right. Adalyn decided that she was ready. She has been in panties ever since! Yay!

Here is Addie with her Potty Chart. Every time she went on the potty she got to put a sticker on her chart. When the chart was full she got the toy that she picked out from the store.

And here she is with the toy that she picked... A box of the Princess dresses for her to dress up in.

Next up... Quincy, Lil Q, the Quincmiester. This girl is really starting to go. She has been walking with our hands for quite some time now. About a month ago she decided that one finger was all she needed. And although she has taken 1 or 2 steps by herself here and there, she has finally started to be brave enough to venture out on her own...
This is just one clip of the many times she has walked back and forth between Devin and I. She has even started walking to us from other objects (couches, chairs, etc). Needless to say, we are pretty excited about these recent changes in the Payne Household!

Weekend In St. George

We took a fabulous trip this weekend and finally got some of that long-lost sun that we have missed so much. It was so nice in St. George... I really didn't want to come back to this drab, cold weather.

Getting our Swim On: Natalee and Carson are always so good with the kids, but having them on vacation with us was so much fun. Adalyn and Quincy loved spending so much time with them.

This is where Adalyn slept for the weekend. at first she really didn't want to, but then we told her that it was Repunzel's tower and it worked like a charm. She got so excited every time we mentioned sleeping in Repunzel's tower... it was so cute!

Lots of eating out... This particular time was Saturday morning. We had planned to go and have a nice breakfast, but unless you want to wait for a ridiculously long time you don't go out for a nice breakfast on the weekend in St. George (including McDonald's). So we ended up eating at Burger King because it was completely empty.

The girls loved all the attention that they got from Grandma and Grandpa. We loved it too!

The Sand Dunes:

Jumping Contests

Quincy: The girl who will take every chance she can get to walk, absolutely refused to put her feet down in the sand. When we sat her down on the sand she would hold her hands up so that they wouldn't touch the sand! Such a funny girl!

She preferred this instead:

Buried Alive:

The Narrows: All the kids (aside from Q) climbed through The Narrows several times. Adalyn loved it. She is quite the hiker!

This trip did not come without its hiccups. On the first day, we had to take Quincy to the Instacare for a lesion on her arm, poor girl can't catch a break! But they gave her some antibiotics and sent us home. The next day we had to jump start one of the cars. Of course this was after it had to be pushed out of the garage so that the cables could reach! At least it all happened in the warm sun!

It was such a fun trip! I miss the sunshine already! Thanks to the in-laws for such a great time!

Birthday Boy!

Devin's Birthday was this last weekend and it was a lot of fun! Though I didn't get pictures of any of the events, we did some fun things including: Breakfast with Devin's parents at Kneaders (Yum!), had friends over for desert, and then had dinner with my parents the next day. I was so glad that we were able to have a few celebrations for his birthday, he absolutely deserves it. He is such an amazing husband and father. I love it when he walks through the door everyday... the girls get so excited to see him. They love him so much. He always works so hard at all that he does (work, school, church calling) and yet can still find time to enjoy life. He can always make me laugh no matter the situation. He has made me a better person over the years and he is the best example to all around him. We can't thank him enough for all that he does for us, but we hope he knows how much he is loved!

Valentine's Weekend

My cute husband planned an overnight get-away for our Valentine's Weekend, in the most perfect location. Price, UT. (I know, right now you are thinking something like "Wow... exotic," or "Were they giving hotel stays away for free or something?") But if you are thinking that, then it is because you don't know our history, or Price. Price, UT is the home of The College of Eastern Utah. And that is where Devin and I first met. We have a great deal of memories in Price, and a great deal of love for that place. We haven't been back there since before we got married. So naturally, it was an amazingly thoughtful place to take me for a Valentine's Weekend. And it really was perfect.

My all-time favorite restaurant is a place called Grogg's and is only located in Price. We ate there twice!

It was such a fun weekend and I (by far) have the best husband in the world! My appreciation for Price (bringing us together) continues to grow along with my love for Devin!

While we were away, however, this is what we missed:

Yep...That's right. We go away for 1 night and we miss our baby's first steps... Go figure!
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
