April 2021

April came with:

Haircuts for half of us...

Gorgeous Sunsets:

Coco stretching with me:

Splash Pads opening:

Feeding ducks and Blue Herons:

This is the darling Easter craft that they made at the nursery activity!

Easter!  We participated in a neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt the night before Easter Sunday. We love this neighborhood!

Easter Sunday and General Conference.  Before General Conference starts, the neighborhood gets together for a General Conference breakfast.  Such an awesome tradition!

Then, we were super lucky to have our friends, The Nielsen's, in town.  They joined us for an Easter dinner and we loved having them!

Swim Days:

Addie's Dance class from school held a Spring recital.  It was fun to see how much she has improved in her dance skills!

Then we had a visit from Aunt Sherri, Uncle Chad, and Jenna.  It's always fun to see this family!

Naptimes... when they actually happened.

More time at the splash pads:

Addie chose to have a movie night with a few friends from school just before her birthday.  This was a great moment for us, as her parents.  Addie has had a hard time since we moved finding girls her age to connect with.  To see her so happy with this group of girls was so awesome!

Coco decided one day that she wanted to start taking walks.  At first they were short and then we were able to make it all they way to the "Bear Park."  Eventually our walks turned into a 2 mile walk to "Log Park" where we would stop to play. Then another 2 mile walk to Harmon's for lunch and stopping to play at "Bear Park." And then a 2 mile walk home.  She loved doing this!

Found these cute little chairs to go under the playground:

Another highlight was when a neighborhood friend came over to make cookies with Addie.  We were starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel for Addie!

And then all of a sudden my sweet baby girl became a teenager.  Addie turned 13 this month and couldn't help but die a little inside.  She is turning into such a beautiful, kind, extremely helpful, and responsible young woman.  I am so proud of who she is becoming and love that I get to witness all the great things she will do.

As a birthday treat, Devin and I checked her out of school for lunch at In N Out.  She then convinced me that she didn't need to go back to school so I brought her home for a movie with mom.  We watched 13 Going On 30... seemed fitting!

Addie got a part in the Oaken Family for the school play Frozen Jr.  Her first performance was on her birthday.  It was fun watching her perform and do what she loves!

Then home for cheesecake to finish out the day!

Angie came to town with her girls for their dance competitions.  The only picture I got was of cute Journee loving the swing!

And then I got to meet up with the Sandy crew for breakfast.  It was not nearly enough time to be with them but so much fun nonetheless!

The girls were asked to sing at a Musical Fireside and they really did such a good job.  So proud of them!

I mean, she's practically my mini me anyways...

Grandpa Wayment came for a visit in between work trips and took us all out for ice cream.  Love when we get to see him!

April was such a great month and we couldn't help but be a little sad to see it go.  But with the end of school in sight, and much warmer days ahead we had a lot to look forward to as well.
