February 2019

 Last year February became our busiest month of the year when Coco added another birthday for the month.  3 birthdays, Valentine's Day, and everything in between really filled our days and kept us busy.  It was so much fun celebrating all month!

 Sweet Sisters...

First Up: Quincy's birthday.  She requested a Spa themed birthday party this year and it was fun pampering her and her friends with facials, pedicures, mirror decorating, and sugar scrubs.

The next day Quincy turned 9.  We have loved watching this girl change and grow and start to figure out who she is.  She has always been the light in any room and manages to bring happiness wherever she goes.  I have yet to meet a single person who doesn't just love Quincy and she is quite often people's favorite.  She loves art, gymnastics, and playing with her friends.  She loves her sisters and absolutely hates chores.  She loves all sorts of food and will try anything at least once.  She has a huge heart and loves to spread that love whenever she can.  We couldn't love this girl more. 

3 days later it was Colette's turn and she turned 1!  Its so hard to believe that a whole year has gone by since this adorable thing was born.  We have loved every moment with this little lady (mostly) and it has been so amazing watching her grow.  I especially have loved the bond that we have shared and how I am the one that she depends on for everything. She is my little attachment... with me wherever I go.  Lately she has been trying more and more foods and its so fun to see her get excited over things like blueberries and cheetos.  She hesitates before eating it as if she is savoring the moment.  Once she learned that walking was a thing she decided that's what we have to do all the time... walking from room to room over and over.  She mastered one-handed walking this month and even took her first few steps on her own.  She loves music and has recently started singing along as well as dancing.  She is a screamer.  And it is loud.  She screams as a way to communicate. If she wants something, she screams.  If she doesn't want something, she screams.  She loves to give kisses but on her terms.  In fact, most of the things that she does are on her terms.  We love this little caboose so much.  

We decided to have a big 1st birthday party over the following weekend so on her actual birthday we celebrated with cookies and swimming.  She loved the cookies but took a long time to warm up to the swimming.

And this is what happens when I don't let her walk down the stairs.  

Party preparations are a little more difficult when she only wants you to hold her.  

One of Coco's favorite songs is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star so we though it would be fun to theme her party around it.  It turned out cute and it was awesome to have all of our family altogether.  So much love and support for our little star.  

Poor thing was terrified by the fire, and maybe the singing.  I basically had to force feed her a taste of the cake so that she would even let me set it down on her tray. 

The very next day we took Coco in to have tubes put in. After having 4 ear infections in the last 6 months the doctors thought that this could be helpful for her.  Although it was a really fast process it was definitely difficult to hand her over to the nurse and let them take her away.  The surgery went well and she was back to normal after sleeping off the anesthesia.

A few days later it was Valentine's Day.  We all woke up to some surprises and it was sweet to see what the girls pulled together for each other.

We volunteered to help at Quincy's class party where we were in charge of the craft station.  I always love being a part of the kid's classes. 

Then we had our annual candle-lit dinner.  This has been a tradition since Devin and I were dating and I drove down to Price to surprise him with a candle-lit dinner.  We have done it every year since then and the girls love it.  It makes for a special evening with our family.  

We had scheduled to have Coco's 1 year pictures taken at a place called Camera Shy.  We went to our appointment and the photographer started taking pictures with a huge flash and that was it.  It scared Coco so much she wouldn't leave my arms for a second and wouldn't stop crying.  So we rescheduled for another day.  At the next appointment we opted for the natural light room so we could avoid the flash but as soon as the photographer pulled out the camera Coco freaked out again.  It was a major struggle and our photographer worked hard but we managed to squeak out a few pretty great pictures.  I asked him to save the crying ones too because I want to remember her like this too.  She is just so beautiful. 

We were able to go to a couple of Carson's basketball games and it was fun to watch him play.

It's always fun to find your kids asleep in the weirdest positions.  

After too many weeks of birthday preparations taking over every minute of our spare time I decided that Tess needed a day of fun so I took her and her friends Kassidy and Hannah to Kangaroo Zoo.  It was fun to see them running all around together.  

And last, but certainly not least, it was Devin's Birthday. 36 years old! He celebrated by going to a full day of basketball championships. The girls were excited to give him presents first thing in the morning. Then we went to dinner at Seven Brothers and came home to Oreo Rice Krispies.  We love celebrating our favorite guy.  He truly is the joy of our family that keeps us all going.  He has the biggest heart and truly cares for everyone around him.  He is a hard worker and wants nothing more than to take care of his family and help others along the way.  He is always good for a laugh and can always find a way to make a bad situation better.  His girls adore him and we are so lucky to have him.  We love his guts!

And this is where I can take a sigh of relief.  It was a fun month full of celebrations but it definitely can take a toll.  Looking forward to a more mild March.
