Home Sweet Home!

After house hunting for several months, Devin and I had begun to feel a little hopeless and a little desperate. Then one August evening, this was our last stop...

Like many we'd seen before, it was an older home so we were expecting that it would need a lot of work.

Instead we found...

It had been completely re-done and updated on the inside! It was Exactly what we were looking for in every aspect.

Not to mention the huge...

Yes, I am referring to the huge satellite dish... Who couldn't possibly want that? Actually, this is the backyard and it has been a dream come true for Adalyn and I.

We immediately knew that this was where we were supposed to be. Our first Sunday at our new ward was our confirmation. So many people approached us, already knew our names, and asked how they could help move us in. Our neighbors are constantly offering their help, tools, and garden goods. We feel so blessed.

Even though we have been here over a month now, there are times that it still seems surreal. In those moments, I take it all in as a reminder how much our Heavenly Father loves us and wants the best for us!

We can't offer enough thanks for the people who have helped us over these last few months. I don't think we will ever be able to show just how grateful we are to you all! When we count our blessings, you are each among them!

Lots of Love!

Family Reunions

To kick off the fall season both of our families held Reunions. We love our families and really enjoy spending time with them. Not to mention how much we appreciate everyone for all that they have done for us (especially most recently).

First came the Wayment Reunion held up at my parent's cabin. We had a great time relaxing, riding 4 wheelers, catching lizards, and playing in the dirt.

Next came the Payne Reunion which was held in a cabin right next to Silver Lake in Cottonwood Canyon. It was beautiful up there and we had so much fun hiking, relaxing in the hot tub, playing games, and eating.

(Our entire group of 19 made the hike up to Lake Solitude... that includes 2 babies, 4 toddlers, and 3 kids!)

And of course we never miss the opportunity for family pictures!

Love you all!!

Summer 2010

Summer seemed to come and go in a whirlwind... and now here we are watching it drift off into fall. We had so much going on over the summer. It was fun and busy, exhausting and stressful at times, but in the end we have many great memories to look back on and so many tender mercies to be thankful for.

Backyard Swimming

Adalyn's first appointment with the dentist. Uncle Aaron took such great care of her she didn't even notice that he was cleaning her teeth! (That's Aaron Olsen with Skyline Dental. Call 435-723-8913 to schedule an appointment today!)

Devin and I celebrated our 5th Anniversary!

Pineview Reservoir

Quincy learned to sit by herself

And got her first teeth. (She's has 4 total now)

Annual Women's Weekend

Random Thank You's:
Even though I know the people that these are for will never see them, I want to write them down as a reminder of the many 'tender mercies' shown to us daily. It will also be a reminder of service and how much a small, random act of kindness can mean to someone in need.
  • Thank you to the unknown woman at the gas station, who saw us cleaning up massive throw up, after Adalyn had spewed in the car, and brought us towels and plastic sacks to help. We were 2 hours from anywhere and without the towels Addie would have had to sit in a wet car seat for that long.
  • Thank you to the 5 or 6 of our new neighbors who saw us working on our house and brought tools to help us. And especially to the 70 year old man who stayed to help Devin with some difficult work.
  • Thank you to the stranger who saw a crying girl at the zoo and offered his unused Carousel ticket to cheer her up.
  • Thank you to our new ward members for making us immediately feel a part of the ward.
  • Thank you to the the old man working at Walmart for the free Rotisserie chicken.
  • Thank you to the Target Pharmacist who didn't just brush me off to fend for myself, but instead spent a couple hours trying to help me find the right prescription for Q.
And I'm sure the list could go on for days. But writing it all down definitely makes me count my blessings!

Goodbye Summer... you will be missed!

The Lingwall Home

As most of you might know, we recently had a very difficult situation with our apartment/landlord. Since it's kind of a long story, I will just say that the apartment became unlivable, and not wanting to risk the health of our daughters we needed to quickly get out. Matt and Shannon to the rescue! They willingly opened up their home to us, and we couldn't be more grateful (and our girls couldn't be more thrilled!) Here are some things about living in the Lingwall home that the girls have come to love...

  • 24/7 access to this...

(which usually means they have attention 24/7!)

  • The Fun crafts and activities that Aunt Shanny has planned...Not to mention the fact that the older kids are so great with helping her to do them!

  • The trampoline (of course)!

  • Taking Baths... (we only had a shower at our apartment)

  • The Hippos on the kitchen cabinets!

  • 4 extra Ni-Night hugs
  • More toys than the toy store
  • And so much more!

My kids will be very deprived of all this when we move. But we are so glad that they have gotten to know their Aunt, Uncle, and cousins so well. We love and appreciate the Lingwalls more than we can say!

6 months or Forever?

Quincy just turned 6 months and looking back on the time, not only has it gone extremely fast, but I can't seem to remember the time before Quincy. Even thinking back to the day she was born, and the week that followed... it feels like it was all a dream. I know that she was meant to be a part of our family because it already feels like she has been with us forever. Little Miss Q is our angel baby and here is why...

  • She taught herself to fall asleep on her own. One day she decided that she was done with being held and put in the swing. She was acting really fussy, so as a last resort I laid her in her crib... she went right to sleep and has fallen asleep by herself ever since. (including throughout the night)
  • To hear Quincy cry is a rare occasion. If she is crying it is for two reasons: she is EXTREMELY hungry or EXTREMELY tired. Otherwise she is so content. We can take her anywhere without worrying about crying and we wake up in the morning to her cooing and talking in the crib. She is a very mellow and happy baby.
  • She takes things like a champ. Adalyn really loves Quincy and for that reason she kind of mauls her. We constantly have to remind Addie to "back up" and "Quincy needs some space." But Q just takes it happily. Although, we have seen some fight in her if she really doesn't like something!
  • Quincy is very loving. She loves cuddles and kisses and I admit, I could give them to her all day!

Currently Quincy's stats are Weight: 16 lbs 9 oz (75%), Height: 26.7 in. (90%), Head: 17.9 in. (95%). She is cutting her first two teeth now and eating rice cereal. She has been such a joy to have in our lives and I look forward to seeing how her "Laid-back, content personality' continues to develop. We love this little lady!

Adalyn and Madelyn

These girls are two peas in a pod and I just love watching them play together. Here they are sliding down at the same time. Read the sign at the top of the bounce house... Need I say more?

Family Pictures

We recently got family pictures taken. Here are just a few of my favorites...
