Summer was finally here and we jumped right in with a party to celebrate school being out. The girls each invited some friends and we had pizza, played outside, and did a late night movie. They had a blast and it was fun to see them with their friends.
Dev started teaching Addie how to mow the lawn. It always boggles me when I realize that she is old enough to start doing stuff like this!
The night of the party I could tell that something was wrong with Quincy. She was acting tired and just not her usual upbeat self. Within the next 2 days we found out that both she and Addie had caught Strep Throat. Not a fun way to start out the summer! 2 weeks later Tess and Colette ended up with the croup...leaving me to question how everyone is getting so sick in the summer!
All 3 of the older girls took swim lessons this summer, and although it was a crazy 2 weeks getting them back and forth I was happy with what they learned.
Colette turned 4 months in June. She learned to roll over but doesn't really enjoy doing it very often. She loves to talk but only laughs when something is really great. She only poops once every 2 weeks and when she finally does its a massive blowout. She likes to grab everything that is within reach, including all of our hair. We set up her bouncer this month and she immediately loved it! She tried Rice cereal for the first time and wasn't a fan at first but got the hang of it after a few tries.
We celebrated Father's Day with my family a week early and Tess stayed right by Great Grandpa Wayment's side for most of the night. She sat with him and they talked, she sang to him and wrapped his arms around herself. It was the cutest thing to see! Then on the way home we got a flat tire and Addie jumped right out to help Devin fix it!
Addie got her first round of braces off! She was pretty excited about that!
Addie had the opportunity to go to Montana for 2 weeks! She and her cousin Katie stayed with Aunt Sara and Uncle Ryan while they attended a theatre camp with cousin Maddie. They had a great time and it was fun to see pictures of their adventures. We definitely missed having her here though!
Friends + Collecting Snails = A good day!
After countless hours of back-breaking work it was finally time to have our play-set installed. We just love how it turned out and the girls have loved having it so much!
Boating with our besties! Ryan and Melanie offered to take us all out on their boat and it was such a fun night! I was amazed when Quincy was the first to say she wanted to try tubing! She loved it and did so great! I even tried wake boarding and almost got up!
We decided to go spend a morning with Great Grandma Johnson. We don't get to see her very often and its always fun to visit with her. She loves to tease people and she loves to laugh. I love that my children have had the chance to know her.
On the way home from Grandma's, we stopped at Lagoon for a little bit...
We attempted to have our weekly pool days with our besties, but with all the busyness of summer it was tricky to make them actually happen. This was Colette's first time in the pool and she really liked it. We were missing Megan on this day.
And that completed our June! Some fun, some sickness, some hard work, and some memories!
