October 2016

October was a great month.  Knowing that the winter months were ahead of us, we soaked up every ounce of good weather that we possibly could and it was definitely good to us.  

Random fun : 

Once Devin's book was up for sale they had such great support from family and friends.  In response, Devin and Christopher signed all the books before shipping them out.  

Had a chance to join the girls for school lunch one day!  Love these 3!

Quincy has been doing so well in her class and she has a teacher who adores her.  Ms. Russell will often send me pictures like this one showing when Quincy has won a spelling game, won student of the month, or finished reading a difficult book.  I love that she does this so that I can see some of what happens during her day. 

Ashton Gardens had plenty of leaves for the girls to enjoy.

In the middle of October this foursome headed out to Boston for a long weekend.  It was such a great trip, a little crazy, and went by way to fast.  Here we are at the airport waiting for our redeye to Boston. 

When we arrived at 6am our cab driver was the greatest.  A true authentic Bostonian, thick accent and all, he told us all about where he grew up as he drove us to the hotel.  As he dropped us off we asked him what he thought about Boston and his response was, "What do I think of Boston? I love Boston!" Thank you Tony... we agree!

After an all night flight and arriving in Boston at 6am, we made a quick stop at the hotel for some refreshing and then headed out to get our day started.  Breakfast at Modern was a must. 

Then on to see the sights.  First stop, The Old North Church.

Then on to Paul Revere's house...

And of course the Freedom Trail Tour.  So fun standing in places where our founding fathers stood, learning new things about our history that we never new, and seeing where America got its start.

Day 2 started with a walk to the Bunker Hill Monument.  Mel decided to go see her Patriots play on this day... an experience she will never forget!

After Bunker Hill we headed over to Cambridge for a Harvard tour.  This campus is gorgeous!

We got to watch some of the Patriots game while we ate lunch feeling a little bit like we were there with Mel...

Then we biked our way through Cambridge, down the Charles River, and over to Fenway Park.  This was so much fun!

Fenway Park Tour: 

Another must... Dinner at Wahlburgers.  This was such a fun place to eat!  We never felt pressured to leave and we literally stayed forever laughing, dancing, and writing notes to Marky Mark. 

And of course we would ride bikes back to the hotel in the middle of the night through Boston.  It was super crazy but it sure gave us a story to tell. 

On Day 3 we decided to rent a car and take a drive out to Cape Cod.  First stop was Hyannisport to see the JFK Museum and take a boat tour of the harbor.  

I spent the entire trip super sick to my stomach.  I could hardly eat anything and I chugged Pepto Bismol like it was Coke.  

After the tours at Hyannisport we drove around Cape Cod a little more only to find that EVERYTHING shuts down after Labor Day.  And I mean everything!  We finally found a place to eat and then made a stop at my favorite beach on Cape Cod... Harwichport Beach.  It was as gorgeous as I remember and the perfect way to end our Cape Cod experience.

Such a great trip! And just like that it was over and we headed back to our hubbies and our littles.

We had a chance to visit Devin's best friend Christopher Nielsen and the girls got a personal tour of his police car and even got to try on some of his police gear.  They loved it!

Crazy Hair Day at school...

 Halloween Extravaganza at the Legacy Center was a fun night of haunted mazes, trick or treating, and games.  

Made it out to a BYU Basketball game and we had such a great time.  

School Halloween Parade and Parties: 

Halloween! Trick or Treating was so much fun this year!  Tess loved it and the older girls wanted to stay out as long as they could.  We met up with friends and just had a great night!
