Blessed

Yesterday, Quincy Lynn Payne was blessed. Devin gave her a beautiful blessing, and she was an angel the entire time. She looked so beautiful all in white. We had so many family and friends there to support us and we are so grateful for them all. Here are some pictures from the day.

Although Quincy was the one who was blessed, it is Devin and I who have been truly blessed. We are so fortunate to have our two beautiful girls as well as each other. We are blessed to have the kind of family and friends that we do. We are blessed, and duly grateful.

Q at 2!

Last week Quincy turned 2 months old. Today she had a check up and we found that she is a healthy and plump little girl. Her stats are as follows: Height- 23in (85%), Weight- 12.5 lbs (85%), Head- (90%). Here are some things we have learned about her:

-She loves having her diaper changed. We can't figure out why but she really enjoys it. It can always calm her down. Sometimes if she gets fussy, we pretend to change her diaper and she calms right down.
-Baths are her favorite and she could sit and splash around in one forever.
-She still loves putting her face right in front of mine. When she is fussy, I hold her face close to mine and shush in her ear and that always helps to calm her down.
-She loves being outside... we are all hoping and waiting (impatiently I might add) for warmer weather so that we can be outside of the house as much as possible. She also loves car rides and walks in the stroller.
-Quincy loves grabbing on to shirt collars and necklaces and sometimes she hangs on for dear life.
-She has really long fingers and long feet. Devin is certain that this means she is going to be his little sports girl!
-She is a very happy girl. She is always smiling, laughing, and talking. There are times that she wants to cry but can't help smiling or talking.

Quincy is such a sweet baby. It's still hard to believe that we have had her for 2 months, but we have enjoyed it so much. She is such an added joy to our family and we all love her so much.

Easter Weekend

Holidays are no longer one day events... with both of our families (plus our own little family celebration) every holiday ends up being at least a 2-3 day event. I love it!! Our Easter just happened to be spread out over the weekend as follows...

Friday Night: Egg coloring

Saturday Morning: Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt with Payne Grandparents

Sunday: Easter Baskets and Egg Hunt with Wayment Grandparents

And then to add Conference on top of all of it... made for one amazing weekend. We love and appreciate our families and all they do for us and our girls!

1 Month Old

Seriously, has it really been a month? It's hard to believe that Quincy has been in our lives for a month now, but what an added joy she has been to our little family.

Here are a few things we have learned about her over the past month...

- The girl does not cry... the only exceptions are if she has a bubble that's hurting her or if her grunts aren't enough to alert us that she is hungry. And even then it's a couple quick wails and then she stops.

-She loves to have her face close to yours. I am trying to decide if she likes the feel of your breath on her face or if she just likes being kissed. Every time she is awake she moves her head so that her face is right in front of your mouth. I love it.

-Quincy can and does sleep through anything... including her big sister screaming/laughing by her face or sticking her fingers in her mouth.

-She is a grunter... She makes grunting noises throughout her sleep and also when she is waking up.

-Quincy does things on her time. We never have a schedule for her because she tells us when she is ready for something. However, she will eat from anything... as long as it has milk in it she will take it.

-She loves taking a bath... but hates being taken out of the bath.

-She has quite the loud burp... unfortunately spit up usually follows.

-As long as she is fed, she is content. We can lay her down anywhere and she is happy and calm.

It has been so much fun watching how Adalyn and Quincy interact... we have been pleasantly surprised with how well Adalyn has accepted her. She loves Quincy, and is truthfully kind of obsessed with her. She always wants to lay by her, touch her, look at her, and check on her (when she is in her crib). Adalyn is a great big sister and it is so much fun having 2 girls. Unfortunately, due to Quincy being so sick and it being RSV season, we are stuck inside for awhile. Needless to say, we are all going a little stir crazy!

It's amazing the things that Addie will find to do around the house...(yes, she is laying under the rug playing the iTouch)

We did venture out on Quincy's first walk and ride in the double stroller... we look forward to many more of these when it's warmer.
